British Curling’s Team Fleming and Team Bryce both enjoyed good runs in their respective Canadian campaigns to reach the closing stages of the Red Deer Classic and the DekalB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba.

Cameron Bryce’s rink reached the quarter finals in Manitoba, before they lost out 6-5 to Switzerland’s Team Schwaller, which went to an extra end.

Meanwhile, Hannah Fleming’s quartet went a stage further in the Red Deer Classic after they defeated Russia’s Team Moiseeva, current European Champions, 5-4, to set up their semi final with Japan’s Team Fujisawa. That match also went to an extra end before Team Fleming lost out 7-5 to the Japanese rink.

Skip Hannah Fleming said after the event: “It’s been a positive weekend in Red Deer. A lot of things we have been working on have clicked together well and have shown in our results.

“We had a really close semi final against Fujisawa going to an extra end and it was disappointing not to reach the final, but overall happy with our team’s performance,” she added.
